Established at MCAS El Toro in 1989, the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is the only institution in the world dedicated primarily to United States Marine Corps aviation. Its collection features more than 40 historic aircraft flown by Marine pilots around the globe, along with a wide range of aviation artifacts that celebrate the legacy and innovation of Marine aviation. In 1999, the museum’s aircraft and artifacts were relocated to MCAS Miramar, where they remained until 2023. That year, the collection was transported to its new home in Irvine, California. As construction progresses on the future Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum at Great Park, the Ponsford LTD team continues the meticulous restoration and maintenance of the aircraft and artifacts, ensuring that the history of Marine Corps aviation endures for generations to come.
