Armaments/Weaponry

Art is always a perspective and to some it is armor and weaponry. Whether it is a WW2 machine gun or 18^th century swords and armor.

It is nice to know there are people out there that can restore them after a disaster has made them less then presentable to display.

At Ponsford, we are able to reverse damages caused by fire, water, accidents or just plain neglect. Recently, we restored a decommissioned machine gun
that had been cut with a blowtorch (They do that so they can't be used again).However, for presentation purposes they are
not very desirable.

We were able to restore the aesthetic appearance of the machine gun to the point that the repairs were undetectable and the collector was able to display it
with his other items.
The other example of our work is
a 19^th century British sword.

This was in a fire with a large collection of other swords and bayonets. The metal had been scorched and the sharkskin on
the handle had been burned off.

We were able to remove the extensively damaged caused by the fire as well as replicate the sharkskin grip and gold wire with which it was attached to the sword and also the leather sheath for the sword.
